CA Antivirus Update Steps

To update the virus software on the public and staff computers
If This computer is a public computer continue with step 1.
If this computer is a staff computer proceed and complete steps 7 though 9.
- Make sure all the computers you want to update are showing in the network control manager for centurion guard.
- Select all the computers you want to update and then choose to disable the protection on the computers.
- Then reboot them.
- Once all the computers are showing up again in the network control manager you are ready to start to update them.
- Log off the All account
- Start ==> Log Off
- Enter the correct use name and password for the “staff” account
- Right click on the Green and Yellow icon near the clock.
- It looks like a heart beat monitor
- Choose “Download Updates Now”
- If there are any updates they will begin to download
- You can tell if the updates are downloading by looking for a a new icon
- This process can take quite some time, or can finish quickly if there are no updates.
- If you are at one of the branch locations I would suggest starting the update before you go home for the night and then it should be finished by the time you get in the next day.
- When the updates are finished the Icon selected above will disappear and then you are finished.
- Enable protection on all computers that are currently in the disabled state
- Reboot computers to activate centurion guard.
