CA Antivirus Update Steps

To update the virus software on the public and staff computers


If This computer is a public computer continue with step 1.

If this computer is a staff computer proceed and complete steps 7 though 9.


  1. Make sure all the computers you want to update are showing in the network control manager for centurion guard.
  2. Select all the computers you want to update and then choose to disable the protection on the computers.
  3. Then reboot them.
  4. Once all the computers are showing up again in the network control manager you are ready to start to update them.
  5. Log off the All account
    1. Start ==> Log Off
  6. Enter the correct use name and password for the “staff” account
  7. Right click on the Green and Yellow icon near the clock.

  8. Choose “Download Updates Now”
  9. If there are any updates they will begin to download

      You can tell if the updates are downloading by looking for a a new icon
    2. This process can take quite some time, or can finish quickly if there are no updates.
      1. If you are at one of the branch locations I would suggest starting the update before you go home for the night and then it should be finished by the time you get in the next day.
  10. When the updates are finished the Icon selected above will disappear and then you are finished.
  11. Enable protection on all computers that are currently in the disabled state
  12. Reboot computers to activate centurion guard.
